The other day Elisabeth insisted I take a picture while she held her baby. The doll was dressed in three layers of clothing, including a real diaper, doll clothes and a vest that came down to her feet. As you can tell, this made Elisabeth very happy!

Awake and Alert

When Sarah is ready to talk and play in the evening, we are usually ready for bed. On this evening she was expecting some serious up-time at 10:45pm. She is very cute, very alert and very responsive at these times…unfortunately, we are not.

As is often the case, the kids played just as much with the box as they did the toys Grandma had recently sent in it. I threatened to ship Hannah back to Grandma in the mail at the time of this photo. She thought that was a great idea and seemed, just for a moment, to think I was serious.

I’m not sure Hannah has left Sarah’s side since the last photo I posted of her hovering over the poor girl! Deborah took this picture while all of the kids were gathered around Sarah…Hannah just happened to be the closest. She is always the closest.

An Early Night?

Sarah has been challenging us by staying up far too long these past couple of weeks. Tonight we were excited to see her awake for much of the day and most of the evening. This photo was taken at 10pm, when she had been awake for a couple of hours. Big day at church tomorrow, so we are praying for rest.

In My Spot

The older kids and I play a game called “in your spot.” If Daddy gets up from his seat, one of his children automatically leaps into his place. Stealing my “spot” is apparently very funny. Sarah is starting early. Here she is laying on my pillow just before midnight, preventing me from getting any sleep!

People around Fairbanks start to get excited this time of year as our daylight increases by nearly seven minutes per day. I took this picture from our front porch at 5:37pm on Saturday. We see beautiful sunsets here every day and have a great view of the Alaska mountain range.
