Very Long Trip

Not a very comfortable rest.

This was our first photo upon arrival in Watertown. The folks at the Maranatha Communications office were kind enough to bring over a pizza for dinner that first night. At least a few of us were able to stay awake while finishing it!

On Our Way

Everyone is excited about our departure.

As we pulled out of our driveway in Fairbanks for the last time, we thought we ought to capture the moment. The look on each of these faces is just about right. Everyone is happy to be leaving, but I can’t say there weren’t a few tears shed as well.

Our Last Song

The last Harper/Smith quartet.

One of the ministries we will miss most is the singing quartet we often formed with our Pastor and his wife. This is a picture of the very last song we sang with them, perhaps this side of heaven. That is a joyful, but difficult thought. We will miss them very much.

Church Family Retreat

Sarah observing the natural surroundings.

The church Family Retreat was one of the last events we attended in Fairbanks. All the children had a good time, including Sarah, who spent most of it just looking around. We weren’t able to attend the entire weekend, but enjoyed the few hours we spent.

The Neighbor’s Toy

Enjoying a trip down the driveway.

Before we departed for Watertown, the kids became very attached to a big-wheel that belonged to the neighbors. They had been nice enough to share, and as you can see, Elisabeth loved it. This picture reminds me to keep an eye out at the local yard sales.

Her Favorite Fingers

This is a typical sight.

Sarah goes to sleep sucking these two fingers. They are also in her mouth often when she is up and playing. She is the first of our children who has employed this two-finger method, though all the other kids did chew their fingers – especially Elisabeth.

Learning and Fun

First we pray - then we eat.

Elisabeth, Hannah and Stephen were all able to attend our Vacation Bible School last week. Deborah was teaching the two and three year old class, but I was only able to attend on Friday night. At snack time I caught Elisabeth both praying and eating.

Full of Curls

Curly having a beverage.

Stephen needs a haircut. We have been putting it off for a while and now it has become clear that this boy has the curliest hair in the family. We’re getting pictures now, because the curls will be coming off soon at the barber shop.

Bright and Happy

A big smile, as usual.

Sarah is a very happy girl. Here she is displaying a personality that is as bright as her clothes. If you smile, she smiles back and may give you a giggle; always with a twinkle in her eye. What a wonderful baby girl!

Posing With Sister

The inseparable sisters.

Hannah remains as close to Sarah as possible at all times. Here we suggested a picture with the two special sisters. At that point Hannah plastered a cheesy grin on her face that was impossible to remove with mere words. It turned out cute anyway.
